It was the first truck produced by tesla and would be as cheap as 35.000 dollars. So after the launch event, people started to pre order the truck as soon as they could. They reached nearly 250.000 pre-orders in the first week and ended up with 2 million pre-orders at its peak. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The truck offered a lot of load capacity, a long-range battery, and a version with bulletproof glass. When the car finally hit the market, only the 4WD versions were available for purchase, with a promise of a cheaper 2WD version to be released later. When Elon tried to show off the bulletproof glass by throwing a lead ball at it, it completely shattered. This is where the memes about the Cybertruck started. In the first few months after the models became available, the fully aluminum body started to rust on some cars. Then, there was a production fault where the acceleration pedal would get stuck and keep accelerating. If you thought that would be it, then you&#8217;re wrong. When this was fixed, other problems started appearing. The Backup camera had a serious second delay in displaying what was happening behind the truck. Eventually, the Cybertruck had over 6 recalls in 2024 alone, making it an online joke instead of the breakthrough Elon thought he&#8217;d have! <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Even though the demand for cyber trucks has lowered significantly over the past year, Elon Musk decided to raise the prices of the trucks! No more 2-wheel drive versions are available, and the other 4-wheel drive versions, a double or triple battery option, were raised with nearly 20.000$ each!
