Ford is known to be one of the biggest American car brands in History. However, the great name of the brand has been tainted in the past few years. And especially this year, they’re not doing great. The manufacturer just broke the annual safety recall record, and this is even before we reached the middle of the year. If you thought that Nissan’s recall<\/a> <\/strong>of nearly 500.000 cars was bad, then you probably will never buy a Ford ever again. In Q2 of 2025 alone, Ford recalled over 3.3 million cars. The recalls weren’t specific to certain cars either; they included nearly the entire Ford and Lincoln lineup of cars. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ford Breaks Annual Safety Recall Record <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

While most of the time it is cool to break records, there are some that you prefer not to break. Unfortunately for Ford, they’ve broken one of the worst records an automaker can break. In the first 6 months of 2025, Ford issued in between 82 and 88 safety recalls. This is more than any carmaker has ever done…. in a full year! Ford vehicles made up over 45% of all recalled vehicles in Q2 of 2025, and are responsible for nearly half of all recalls in 2025. <\/p>\n\n\n

Why were the vehicles recalled? <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

While some of the recalls from Ford were for things that didn’t have a huge impact on the safety of the car, like loose or dislodged airbag indicator lights. There were others, like the Do Not Drive warning for Super Duty trucks, which had bigger underlying issues. For example, these trucks could have a potential brake failure due to missing a brake booster pushrods that retain the springs. One of the biggest recalls was for a faulty backup camera issue. This problem affected over 1 million different vehicles across multiple model years. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
