This weekend, multiple Southern European countries are experiencing a heatwave that puts some of them on the highest heat alert, triggering a Severe Weather warning. Southern European Countries Hit High Temperatures and Receive Severe Weather Warnings <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

From June 27th to June 30th, multiple Southern European countries are experiencing a heat wave, making it difficult to live outside your house. So all tourists who decided to go on an early summer city trip were surprised by the heat! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The increase in frequency of these heat waves shows the consequences of climate change. They’re not a threat to animals or nature alone, but also to human life. With this heat, the smallest sparks can cause big, uncontrollable fires that can take lives. This is a wake-up call for Europeans to think more about the climate and start acting in ways to help it out. <\/p>\n\n\n

Not the weather for City Trips<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Algarve, Portugal, is one of the most popular destinations<\/strong><\/a> for British tourists who want a nice beach vacation. This weekend was the perfect time to lie on the beach and enjoy a few cold drinks. However, the people who visited Lisbon during this weekend were probably not as happy. Because of the lack of wind in the busy city, temperatures reached 40\u00baC (107\u00baF+) or more! This, combined with the “hills” on which the city was built, makes walking around feel like a HIIT workout! The people in the Lisbon district were advised not to go outside and to hydrate regularly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Rome, Italy, even locals were searching for the shade of the Colosseum to protect themselves from the scorching heat. Some Italian cities, including Rome, Milan, and Naples, were put on the highest heat alert.
