One of Britain’s greatest cyclists of all time, Crishs Froome, was recently involved in an accident during a training session. He crashed and had to be taken to the hospital to get checked out. While his team said he was stable and didn’t have any head injuries, he still has to get surgery. Keep reading to discover more about this.
Chris Froome’s Team Stated The Crash Was Serious!
During one of his latest training sessions, Chris Froome was involved in an accident, and the Briton had to be taken to a hospital by helicopter. The accident happened in Toulon, which is 170km away from where he lives in monaco. The team stated that his accident was serious, but that he didn’t sustain any head injury and that he was in a stable condition.
Later, scans confirmed that Chris’s accident was more than “serious”. He supposedly has five broken ribs, a collapsed lung, and a lumbar vertebrae fracture. So the accident must have been pretty intense. Even though he had this many injuries, French newspapers confirmed that Chris Froome was conscious when he arrived at the hospital.

He will have surgery on his back later this week to make sure everything can heal as fast as possible. However, it is not clear yet how long it will take before Chris Froome is fully back to driving a bike, but we’re glad that he didn’t sustain even more injuries or worse, pass away because of the crash. No other cyclists were involved in the crash.
Chris is one of the most decorated cyclists in History
Chris Froome is one of the most decorated cyclists in History. He has two Olympic bronze medals and 4 Tour de France wins. There are only four men in the history of the sport who have won the tour more. This makes him one of the best drivers of all time. While we hope that he recovers soon and will get back on his bike too, it might never happen. Chris had hinted at the fact that 2025 might be his last year in competitive cycling!
