It has been a while since Tesla announced some real upgrades or additions to their current lineup. With all the problems of the Cybertruck, the company needed a boost. This is why they held the “We Robot” event where Elon Musk unveiled multiple new vehicles and other Tesla-powered machines!
Tesla Reveals New Fully Autonomous Car Without Pedals!
As soon as Elon walked into the building, he got into a new Tesla car with a Cybertruck finish but the looks of a Model Y. However, the doors of this new model opened like supercars with the “butterfly”-style doors. When the camera moved to an inside-of-the-car view, people noticed that there was no steering wheel and no pedals.
This was Elon’s way of announcing a fully autonomous car without the option to steer it yourself. The new car is called the “Cybercab” and Elon wants it to be the main form of transport in the future.
The car also does not have any charging ports, it will charge its batteries with inductive charging pads that the car can drive on top of. The best part of the Cybercab? It will be less than 30.000$ and can be privately owned! Check out the reveal in the video below!
His Ai Robots Were Not Really Ai
After the event, people could try out the new Cybercabs and interact with the new Optimus robots. Even though the robots were marketed as fully AI robots, during the afterparty it became clear that they weren’t as developed as Elon made out to be.
In multiple recorded interactions, the robots said that “today” they were being assisted by remote operators. So many people then started to question how much of the demonstration was AI too. We all know that the technology is not there yet, and this was supposed to be a glimpse into the future. However, many attendees felt that the “human assistance” was taken away from the rest of the event.
