It has been a long time since we’ve had a good scary movie. Nowadays, it’s more action films and rom-coms that gain popularity. However, the creators of the Terrifier 1 and Terrifier 2, have finally released the teaser trailer of the sequel: Terrifier 3, and the public’s reactions sound promising!
The Terrifier movies became widely known for their gory nature. The second movie, Terrifier 2, was the better of the two films released so far. It managed to rake in more than 15 million dollars in revenue, which is pretty impressive since its budget was only 250.000$. After a success story like this, you’d expect the production of the next movie to start immediately… right?
No Movie Studio Wanted to Fund Terrifier 3
Whenever a movie is a great success, film studios usually can’t wait to invest in the next installment to enjoy a piece of the profit pie. This wasn’t the case for Terrifier 3. The filmmakers had to go their own way after Hollywood Studios pulled out due to the gore levels in the opening scene.
However, they did find funding for the move and were able to start filming. Over the last few months, the hype around this movie has been growing, and people can’t wait for it to show on the big screens! If you are planning on watching it on the opening weekend, you’ll have to be patient until the 11th of October 2024!
Even the Actors Couldn’t Believe How Scary the Movie Was!
The scenes in this Christmas Slasher film were so disturbing that the actors still have nightmares about them. Some even claim that “they will never be the same”. Even lead actor David Howard Thornton couldn’t handle some of the scenes and nearly threw up when seeing them for the first time. Maybe Hollywood Studios weren’t wrong for pulling out after all.
