Monterey Car Week is one of the biggest Automotive festivals in the world. Because of the attention that the festival gets, a lot of car manufacturers choose to unveil their newest additions to the lineups during this event. This was the case for Lamborghini with their new Temerario, however, it wasn’t the only car reveal during the festival! Electric Hypercar brand Rimac, chose to unveil the newest version of their Nevera, the Rimac Nevera R, and it is incredible!
Rimac Nevera R, the most powerful car from the factory
When the original Nevera was revealed, people were shocked when they realised it came with over 1900 horsepower. However, this wasn’t the highest horsepower production car yet. The Lotus Evija has 2000 horsepower from the factory. This is something Rimac took into consideration when designing the new Nevera R. By tweaking the design of the Nevera, they were able to get 200 more horsepower out of the car. This means that every Nevera R will come with 2107 horsepower clearly breaking the 2000 barrier!

The new Rimac Nevera R was unveiled at Monterey Car Week and people could start ordering the very limited electric hypercar. There will be only 40 units made for the whole world, and comes with a price tag of 2,2 million dollars! Even though that is an insane amount of money, the 40 allocations for the car will probably sell very quickly!
After revealing the Nevera R, a new project was announced
Shortly after Bugatti and Rimac CEO, Mate Rimac, revealed the Nevera R, he mentioned a new secret project. With their “normal” cars, Rimac is focused on the driveability and usability of the cars on normal roads. However, the customers wanted more track power and racing capabilities from a Rimac car.

This is what the secret project was all about. Mate Rimac told the crowds at Monterey Car Week that they were developing a track-focused car, which will be a single-seater such as the McLaren Solus GT so the customers can go all out on race tracks. This car will probably not be road-legal, which would make it a very expensive “toy” for rich people!
