With Netflix raising its monthly fees and making “account sharing” impossible, the costs of streaming services have gone up a substantial amount. However, the monthly fees do give you access to a lot of different shows to enjoy during your free time. If these streaming services have so many options, then why does it feel like you have to search for hours to find the perfect show to watch? Keep on reading and discover the reason behind the disappearing content on streaming services!

There Is Too Much Content Available But Nothing To Enjoy

Every month new titles are released. However, before you have the time to fully enjoy the show another new shinier show is released. Swamping you with decision fatigue after a hard day at work. Then when you finally have a day off and you start looking for that one show you were going to watch months ago, you realize Netflix or other streaming platforms have taken it down.

Then you’re left choosing between a whole library of new, never heard of before, shows or the biggest shows which you saw as soon as they came out. Another scenario that you encounter often is that you finally find a show that you enjoy watching. After watching the 12th and final episode of the first season, you’ll find yourself craving a second season. However, the second season never got released and the streaming services have no intention of ever releasing it.

Streaming Platforms Choose Mega Hits Over Multiple Successful Shows

Most good quality shows, which aren’t as popular as they came out the same month as House of Dragons season 2 won’t even get a season 2 because it didn’t bring in enough views! This makes the streaming services scrap the whole show before it reaches its full potential.

So shows either have to be the next Game of Thrones or they’ll most likely be scrapped. Luckily some of these shows are anticipated to be great shows. For example, the third season of House of the Dragon was announced weeks before the second season launched. So maybe there is hope!
