McDonald’s came into existence in 1940 by the McDonald brothers. It soon became one of the biggest food chains all over the world. Over the years there have been multiple interesting items added to the menu, such as a purple, sweet potato-based cake in Japan, or the Bacon Macaroni and Cheese toastie in Hong Kong. However, one item was available for nearly two decades, then discontinued in nearly all locations: The McPizza! Keep on reading to discover why it was discontinued and where you still have the chance to try it.

The McPizza Was Discontinued Because The Food Wasn’t Fast Enough

The McPizza was launched in the mid-1980s and started as a family-sized pizza, brought to you by an employee and placed on an elevated rack in the middle of your table. Later it evolved into a one-person-sized pizza. However the size was never the problem for the McPizza, there was something else wrong with it that caused it to be discontinued.

In the 2000’s the McPizza was officially discontinued in almost all restaurants. The main reason for the discontinuation? The Pizza took too long to cook. And if your whole business model is made around fast food which usually only takes minutes to be prepared, a 15-minute wait for a Pizza is too long.

You Still Have A Chance To Try It!

Are you wondering what the McPizza tasted like or do you just want to experience what it was like? Then you’re in luck. Not all of the locations that had the McPizza on their menu stopped making them. There is currently one place in the United States where the item is still on their menu! Unfortunately, you’ll have to fly all the way to Orlando Florida to be able to eat it!

The McPizza is a discontinued McDonald’s menu item which was launched in the mid 1980’s, and mostly discontinued by around 2000. Currently, only one location in Orlando, Florida still serves the McPizza.
