Michael Douglas, an 80-year-old actor and two-time Oscar winner, has said that he is pretty much done with acting. In one of his most recent interviews, he said he had to stop. After 60 years of intense work and acting in shows and movies, he’s ready to take a step back from the spotlight.

Michael Douglas is defenitely not a small actor. He has had multiple lead roles in big movies. Some of the biggest roles were in “Behind The Candelabra”, “The American President” and even “Ant-Man And The Wasp”. He also acted in multiple big shows and series, with his most recent one being for Apple TV+!
He almost had an early end to his acting career when in 2010 he had to undergo chemo therapy for stage 4 throat cancer. If they had performed a surgery, he would have likely stopped acting in 2010, as the surgery would take part of his jaw away, making speaking nearly impossible. However, we got 12 more years of his acting skills! Michael Douglas was able to decide his end in the acting world.
Since 2022, Michael Douglas has not worked. This is perfect timing for him as he has worked for around 60 years in the acting world. After realizing this, he decided to stop with his acting job and enjoy life for a while. The last role he ever played was as Benjamin Franklin in Franklin, a series from Apple TV+.

In one of the interviews, he mentioned that there is one way he’d come back to the acting world. If something really special, like a unique role or movie, would come up, he might consider using his acting skills one last time. However, for now, he’s just happy to see his wife work in the acting world and take a backseat to enjoy his life!
