Last weekend the world of Formula One was a complete chaos. From unwarranted penalties to bad decisions from the FIA. After qualifying it looked like Lando Norris would win the battle against Max Verstappen, as he did during the sprint race. However, the bad weather caused chaos on and off track which led to Max Verstappen’s victory. Even if you don’t like the Dutch driver, this was a race where he deserves credit and deserves to be recognized as the world champion racing driver he is!

The qualifying sessions of the race were postponed because of the bad weather. However, when they finally continued, there were 5 red flags in the different qualifying sessions. One of which caused Max to finish 12th, making him start in the 17th position. The bad weather carried on during the race, making it a very challenging race.

Max Verstappen in rain

Multiple drivers crashed their cars or spun out and were easily passed by Max Verstappen. However, the Dutchman proved that he was the king of the rain. When he eventually passed Esteban Ocon, he showed that he still is World Champion quality and set the fastest lap in the rain… 17 times!

The Race Weekend Stays Controversial!

Throughout the weekend the FIA made some really strange decisions which influenced the result of the sprint race by giving Max Verstappen a 5-second penalty, causing him to lose a position. However, during the qualifying sessions of the Grand Prix, the FIA let a crash be for more than 40 seconds without giving a red flag! This caused Max Verstappen to be out of the last qualifying session!

However, during the race, everything was going exactly right for the Dutch world champion who now holds a 62-point gap from Lando Norris! This brings Max Verstappen one step closer to his fourth world championship!
