Monterey Car Week has come to an end and it was as special as ever! Some of the most exclusive cars on the planet were put on display. Lamborghini had their stand within the festival grounds and they used to reveal the successor of the Lamborghini Huracan. The car they unveiled is the new Lamborghini Temerario, and it looks insane!

Lamborghini Temerario — Fast, powerful, reckless!

The new Lamborghini Temerario is the second hybrid car of Lamborghini, with a V8 Hybrid engine. It is the first time since the release of the Lamborghini Jalpa in 1981. However, this time it is supported by a fully electrical motor that powers the front wheels of the car.

The Lamborghini Temerario has 960 horsepower, only 41 horsepower less than the V12 Hybrid Lamborghini Revuelto! And this is only the “Standard” version of the car. We can expect some limited editions or more performance-focused versions of the Temerario in the future!

With this new car, they officially said their goodbyes to the V10 engines, which have been an iconic part of the Lamborghini supercar lineup! For the past 20 years, the V10 was the engine for the smaller supercar of the Lamborghini lineup.

When you look into the names of Lamborghini cars, you’ll notice that they’re all named after fighting bulls. However, the Temerario has another meaning. When you translate Temerario from Italian to English, you get the word “Reckless“, which is a very fitting name for a 960-horsepower beast!

Mixed reactions to the newest Lamborghini

The car was a great success at Monterey Car Week, however, the reactions online were quite mixed. One of the main complaints was that the colour they chose for the reveal of the car wasn’t “Lamborghini” enough, since most other Lamborghini cars were revealed in a bright colour. The Temerario which was revealed at Monterey Car Week, was painted in a muted blue color.

The other theory is that Lamborghini already has a performance-oriented car designed. By doing this, they can use a bright colour to make the contrast bigger! Do you think this is all part of Lamborghini’s plan? Or is it just a coincidence?
