As a dictator, he wants to keep control over his people. This means that his people can’t be curious about what the rest of the world has to offer. This is why the leader has banned food that originated in the South or other Western countries! Food is not the only thing being banned
In North Korea, a marriage is meant to last a lifetime, and getting divorced is an act against their beliefs. This is why it is now forbidden to get divorced by yourself. A woman claimed to have served in a labor camp for over 3 months after getting a divorce. These punishments would also be heavier on the women than on the men!
