The most iconic Trio in the United Kingdom, and even the world, has to be Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May. Their unique friendship and love for cars have given their viewers a lifetime full of laughs and information about the automotive industry and its flaws! However, the end of their Amazon Prime show The Grand Tour is around the corner and we must say goodbye!
Every season these gentlemen set out on a big adventure by choosing a challenging car category and testing this car in every way. These episodes are filled with funny moments, questionable humour and much more. People all over the world love the show and have been following the trio for a while already!
From Top Gear to Grand Tour
The Trio started at Top Gear over twenty-two years ago! They started at Top Gear, a show on the BBC. However, after a fallout between Clarkson and one of the BBC crew members, Jeremy was suspended from the show in 2015. Richard Hammond and James May refused to keep recording shows without Jeremy and left the show as well.
The BBC replaced them with new hosts resulting in a loss in viewership. The viewer numbers dropped since most people liked the show because of the hosts and their “on-the-edge” banter. Amazon Prime saw this as the perfect opportunity to continue the saga and give the fans exactly what they wanted. This is how the new show “The Grand Tour” came to be.
For the past few years, the Grand Tour introduced new funny segments to their existing ones. The show even copied the large trips and challenges they had to do during these trips. However, all nice things must come to an end, and unfortunately, we have reached the end of the Grand tour!
One Last “Wholesome” final!
The last episode was recorded over a year ago, however, fans have to wait a couple more days to watch the release of their last Grand Tour adventure. The gentlemen will take some unique cars to Zimbabwe for a final trip and challenge of their automotive career together.
We think these men will come together often after the show is over. However, there won’t be any cameras to give us insight into the banter and friendship that they have built over the past 22 years.
