Everyone knows that Formula One is a sport with no space for mistakes. However, this does not only apply to the drivers but also to the team behind them. For example, the pit crew is an essential part of the team that is responsible for prepping the car before the race and changing tires as fast as possible during the race. Everyone in the team plays an important role; however, some people have more responsibilities, especially the team principal. For Red Bull F1, this role is… or was, fulfilled by Christian Horner, who has been with the team for 20 years. However, earlier today, the Red Bull racing team announced that Christian is being fired! Keep on reading to discover more.

Red Bull Fired Christian Horner

Whenever someone is with a Formula One team for so long, they often give them the option to “resign” on their own volition. However, Christian Horner did not do this. Earlier this morning Red Bull Racing announced that they were letting Christian Horner go. In the public message, they didn’t specify why Christian is getting fired, but they did thank him for all the years he’s been with the team.

The Red Bull achievements under Horner

Over the last two years, Horner’s reputation hasn’t been the greatest. He faced multiple lawsuits, and the team has had one of the worst cars ever. However, this has not always been the case. Under Christian Horner, the Red Bull F1 team had some of their best years as a team, with eight constructors ‘ championship titles and multiple drivers’ world championships, including Max Verstappen’s four consecutive wins! During this time, Red Bull also had one of the most dominant cars ever.

Who’s taking over from Christian Horner?

The 2025 Formula One season isn’t over yet, so the Red Bull F1 team needs an acting team principal. While they’re looking for a replacement for Christian, the role will temporarily be taken on by the team principal of the Racing Bulls F1 team, the sister team of Red Bull Racing.
