Te UK Requires Online Age Verification To Unlock Access To Adult Content! (And Here’s How to Avoid It)

The UK has been working on multiple rules and laws for social media platforms so that their younger users can be protected from potentially harmful and traumatizing content. On July 25th, 2025, the Online Safety Act was implemented, which requires thousands of adult content platforms to implement an age verification step before people are able to access the content. Keep on reading to discover what this means, and how you can avoid this check!

No More NSFW Content For UK Users As A Result Of The UK Safety Act

The Only Safety Act, introduced in 2023, is a new set of rules and laws for social media platforms to protect their underage and adult users. These online platforms now have a “legal duty” to ensure the protection of children from a wide range of “harmful” content, such as:

  • Pornography
  • Eating Disorders
  • Suicide
  • Self-harm encouraging content

From July 25th, 2025, most social media platforms will have to enforce stricter rules on age verification. Clicking a box confirming you’re 18 or older is not enough anymore. Now, sites that offer content that belong to the “harmful” content list will have to verify the age of users in one of 3 ways: by age estimation via a Selfie of the user, by age estimation by looking at the user’s email address, or by a formal verification of the user’s valid ID.

While the intention is good and will protect kids from watching harmful content, it will be an extra step that people will have to go through when they want to watch NSFW content.

Reddit Already Implemented The Rules A Few Days Ago

A few days before the deadline for all platforms, Reddit already introduced the new age verification rules. However, they don’t process your data like your selfie or ID; they have an independent third party verifying the age of the users. The only thing that Reddit will see is the “approval status, your date of birth, and your username”. From the moment you’ve passed the verification once, you won’t have to do it again for the same account.

UK Porn Sites Will Have To Follow These Rules Too!

While Reddit has adopted the rule before July 25th, it won’t be the only online platform where UK visitors will have to identify themselves before they’re able to use all functionalities. In total, there will be over 6,000 adult content platforms that will now require visitors to verify their age by uploading selfies or showing their IDs. Jannik Sinner, who recently won his First Wimbledon title, already announced that he would not be part of the National Bank Open. He would be taking his time recovering from an Elbow injury. The National Bank Open is Followed By Two Other Tournaments

The extended format for the National Bank Open is not really helping the tournament. The players who did want to play have now opted to skip the tournament altogether. The main reason that they’re pulling out of the NBO is to get some more rest before other tournaments.

Experts in the sport say that in the future, many more top athletes will withdraw from their tournaments if they don’t change it back to the 1-week period. The event went from a one-week tournament to a tournament played over 12 days. The additional days that the players have to live in hotels, instead of spending time with family, will have consequences on their bodies.

However, this year it is extra bad. The National Bank Open is just two weeks after Wimbledon, and a week after the tournament ends, the Cincinnati Open starts, followed by the U.S. Open!

However, the new music is not some long-lost audio files; it is AI-generated music that doesn’t even sound like the real artists. Keep on reading to discover how this can happen!

New Track Appears Under Country Singer Who’s Been Dead From 1989

Blaze Foley, a country singer who passed away in 1989, suddenly had a new “official” track that was released in the past year. The track, “Together”, was an AI-generated song and the people who listened to it said it had very generic vocals. The track photo was also created with Ai and didn’t resemble anything of the original artist.

It was Craig McDonald from Lost Art Records, who discovered the fraudulent song. He is also responsible for managing Foley’s catalog and said that the song was nowhere near Blaze’s original style. While he flagged the content as fraudulent as soon as he discovered it, it was already too late. The track was already used through the TikTok SoundOn platform. Later, it was removed by Spotify for violating its terms.

Ai Covers Are Becoming a Big Problem

Spotify is not the only place where AI songs have been taking away the money from Artists’ Estates. YouTube has been plagued with AI covers on its platform. Over 1,60 million Ai covers have been posted since the popularity of AI skyrocketed. These covers have caused a loss in revenue of more than 13,5 million dollars. There is no control over the publication of these songs, and it often takes too long before they’re taken down. More artist are requesting bigger protections for their work, especially the monetization of it!

Venus Williams never said she retired from the sport, but just after 16 months of not having played a single competition game, the WTA had put her status to “inactive”. This is why it surprised so many Tennis fans when she showed up on Monday to play a doubles match with Hailey Baptiste, which they won 6-3, 6-1.

However, these fans did not expect Venus to play in the singles tour either, as she hadn’t been playing for a while. But the Washington Open invited her as a “Wildcard,” giving her entry to the tournament. This was unfortunate for fellow American Peyton Stearns, who faced Venus in the first round. Venus won both sets with a score of 6-3 and 6-4, allowing her to continue to the next match.

This victory made Venus Williams the second oldest woman to ever win a singles match in a tour, and the oldest woman to win this type of match in over 20 years!

Williams Is 22 Years Older Than Her Opponent

Peyton Stearns, who currently has the No. 35 spot in the WTA rankings, is just 23 years old. This makes Venus Williams more than 20 years older than the opponent she was facing during the first round. However, the years of skill Venus has over Stearns made it so that Williams was able to win and continue in the tournament.

Williams is so much older that by the time Peyton Stearns was born in 2001, Williams had already reached the No. 1 spot in the WTA and claimed 4 Grand Slam Titles.

AppleCare One is a new subscription-based insurance service on Apple products. With this new plan, you’ll be able to keep your shiny new Apple products pristine for longer or at least fix them after you inevitably drop them. The insurance covers unlimited accident repairs, 24/7 support, battery coverage, and even extra theft/loss protection for Apple Watches or iPads!

With this bundled insurance, you can cover iPhones, iPads, Apple watches, computers, and more. The base plan allows you to insure up to 3 devices for just $19.99 a month. However, if you have more devices that you want to cover, you can add them to the plan for an additional $5.99 per device. And you don’t need to have the newest device; AppleCare One can be used for older devices. These older models can be up to four years old, if they’re in good condition. So you don’t have to immediately decide when you purchase a new phone.

The insurance will be available in the US from tomorrow!

Users in the United States will be able to request their AppleCare One plan starting from July 24th. So from tomorrow, you’ll be able to cover multiple devices in one plan. If you want to know if your devices are still in good condition, visit the Apple Center in your area. Initially, the service will only be available in the United States; however, we’re confident that it will roll out in other countries around the world as well!

Rock legend Ozzy Osbourne has been battling Parkinson’s disease for a couple of years now, and his body has been losing strength. The official diagnosis of his disease was 6 years ago, in 2019, and he told the world just a year later. However, in 2003, he would already have had a mild version of the disease. Initially, he was still able to walk and move around independently.

However, near the end, it became nearly impossible for Ozzy to stand on his own. He even had to sit while performing his last show due to the disease. Ozzy’s family shared the news that the rock legend had unfortunately passed away. He was surrounded by his family, who were with him until the last moment.

Just a couple of weeks ago, Ozzy Osbourne said goodbye to the performances on the big stage. He and his band Black Sabbath performed in their “Back to the Beginnings” concert. This was the official goodbye from Ozzy Osbourne who would not make a return to the stages anymore. It was the first time in 20 years that the Black Sabbath performed with all of its original members.

Most fans liked the fact that they were able to say goodbye to the legend. However, for most people, it was also a little bit sad as Ozzy had to sit in his “throne” the whole time. During the show, multiple video messages from other rock legends were played, and bands like Metallica even performed on stage to entertain guests.

The rock legend was one of the greatest of his time. Black Sabbath Album “Prince of Darkness” sold over 75 million copies worldwide, and they had multiple successful shows.

Google Uses More Than 1B Android Phones To Measure And Warn About Earthquakes!

Whenever there is a big earthquake, there are a lot of casualties as these people didn’t know that there was an earthquake until it happened. However, Google has been collecting data from over 1 billion Android smartphones to send out early warnings about nearby earthquakes and their intensity. Keep on reading to discover more about it.

Google uses 1 billion Android phones to measure earthquakes and warn users

Between 2021 and 2024, Google used the continuous input of Android phone sensors to determine seismic activity. They then collected the data and were able to locate the source and even the strength of an earthquake. They were able to identify more than 10.000 earthquakes with an accuracy that rivals the usual technology and specialized seismometers!

By using over 1 billion different Android phones all over the world, Google was able to create a giant network of seismic activity trackers. By identifying these earthquakes, they were able to send automated messages and warnings to millions of people in more than 90 countries all over the world.

There are two types of notifications that you’re able to receive on these Android devices. A Be Aware Alert, which just notifies you that an earthquake is happening somewhere and that you might feel light trembling of the ground. However, if you’re closer to the epicenter of the earthquake, you might receive a Take Action alert, giving you instructions on how to protect yourself from potential debris falling on top of you.

Users can opt out, but have to do so manually

The release of the study also revealed that Google has been collecting data about these phones for at least 3 years. Each of the devices automatically participates in the data collection for this project, unless the user intentionally opts out of the service.

This launched a debate on whether or not the company should have asked users for permission instead of just using the data. Others said that by making this data more accessible to experts in seismology, they can help optimize the analysis of the data to send more accurate early warnings. By doing this, the technology would also become more reliable.
