Popular car brands have to be innovative when it comes to new cars. Each new model has to be more fuel efficient or get a better range on its fully electric motor. However, with most completely new electric cars, it looks like the design was the last thing they thought about. Look at the EQ line from Mercedes for example. However, Audi has done something nice with the new all-electric Audi A6 model.
The most Aerodynamic electric Audi ever
Audi has spent a lot of time designing this new all-electric A6 to be as aerodynamic as possible— at least for a Sportback car— and they succeeded! Without losing the soul of the car, they have made the most aerodynamic EV model yet! In windtunnels the car got a drag factor of 0.21. This is why the Sportback can reach up to 466 miles on a full charge!
The new Audi A6 EV also comes in a station wagon, the Audi A6 Avant, which is slightly less aerodynamic and has a drag factor of 0.24. This model will get 447 miles out of the 100kwh battery. Which version would you choose?
To reduce the drag, Audi has now chosen to use camera’s for digital side mirrors. However these won’t be the only screens you’ll find in the interior. Both de driver and the passenger get enough screen space to entertain all passengers within the car.
It surprisingly does not look bad
Whenever brands bring out new electric cars for their fleet, they often try to take aerodynamics to an extreme. This will lead to weird-looking designs and shapes. However, this is not the case with the new Audi A6.
Even though Aerodynamics have been the main concern for the car, it still looks relatively good! With this, we mean that it looks like a normal new Audi without having the less good-looking electric car designs! Since the Audi A6 is now fully electric, we can expect the new Audi RS6 to be an E-tron model which will be on the level of a Tesla Plaid or the Porsche Taycan!
