Normally the drivers are the point of interest within Formula One, however this week ahead of the Baku Grand Prix, Adrian Newey is the name that shows up in all the headlines. The legendary Formula One engineer is responsible for some of the most dominant cars in F1 history. Aston Martin recently posted a clip on Twitter showing off Adrian designing the Aston Martin Logo and announced that he is officially part of the Aston Martin F1 team!
Within Aston Martin Newey will be the technical department manager, which means he will be making all the decisions about the new cars as he wishes. It was Lawrance Stroll’s vision to make a dream team of engineers and Adrian Newey was the cherry on top. With this team, he wants to start winning both driver and constructor championships. However, 2025 will be the first season they try!
Aston Martin Has Given Up On 2024 Season!
After the announcement was made public, multiple conspiracy theories have surfaced about the performance of the current Aston Martin cars. Last season Fernando Alonso brought his Aston Martin to the podium multiple times. He was nowhere near the level of Max Verstappen, however, he did perform well with what he got.
This year this is not the case. Aston Martin has been struggling in the lower half of the grid with Ferrari, McLaren, Mercedes and Red Bull being ahead. Many thought that something went wrong in the development of the car, however, now that Adrian Newey is signed, many think Aston Martin is shifting focus to the new season. This is because Adrian Newey can’t put his magic into the current cars, but he can work on the new cars and give some insight before the next season starts!
Red Bull in Chaos After Adrian Newey Left
Red Bull was in top shape at the beginning of the year, however, their performance has tanked. Max Verstappen has been struggling with the car and even calls it a “monster” and not in a good way. All of this chaos started happening around the time that Adrian Newey announced that he was leaving Red Bull.
Many think that the other people within the Red Bull team didn’t listen to what Adrian had to say and just went with what they thought would be the next step. Adrian Newey has over 20 years of experience and is responsible for some of the most dominant cars in Formula One ever! So not taking his advice might have been a bad decision
