Apple Pattents New All-Round Display Device!

Apple is known for it’s perfection. It might not always be the first to the market with new devices. However, when the products do become available, they’re perfect. In the next few years, we’re expecting foldable iPhones and phones that you’ll barely feel in your pocket. However, a new patent has been submitted for a phone-like device with a 360º screen! Keep reading to discover more about it.

An All-Round Display for your Phone! (potentially?)

Apple has filed a patent for “an electronic device with a glass enclosure”, and it looks like it is describing one of the potential future iPhone models. The device would be made out of two glass slabs that wrap around the whole device. It would leave it with six sides and touchscreen sensors on each of the curved edges. The edges would be used to control things like airplane mode, volume controls, and even Wifi. The patent builds further on an idea that originates from the iPhone X where Apple was looking into making fully glass phones. Maybe this is also something that we’re seeing in the next “iOS 26 Liquid Glass” update.

While the patent is promising, it might never become a reality. Right now it is still called a “Device” and not a specific phone, so it might be a different Apple product coming out in the future.

Foldable iPhones are “confirmed” by Apple

However, there are rumors that have been confirmed by multiple sources, which is that one of the next generations of iPhones will have a foldable variant. However, this foldable phone is only set to release in September of 2026. This year, on September 9th, we’re getting the new Apple event where they will reveal the iPhone 17 Air. This will be their thinnest phone ever made. On September 9th we’ll be covering everything that is released during the event, so you don’t have to watch the full presentation.
