The Cable Car Takes Minutes to carry nearly 100 people to the top!

The Mürrenfluh Cable Car fits 85 people per cabin and uses 2 cabins to transport people. This is a lot bigger than most ski lifts, making transporting people in that area more efficient.

The amount of people it can transport each hour is not the most impressive thing about this. The Cable car scales up 775 meters of the Mürrenfluh Cliffs, which have a gradient of 159.4%! Making it the steepest automated cable car in the world. The Iconic ride takes 4 minutes to complete the 1194-meter track and can transport up to 800 people per hour, suspended by 11-meter arms and traveling at 7 meters per second. Even though the cable car is automated, it is monitored by cameras and sensors to ensure the safety of passengers! Check out the video below to see what a ride looks like!

This is part of the Schilthornbahn 20XX project!

People can use the Cable Car to access the Schilthorn mountain. This mountain was used in the 1969 James Bond Movie as the “Piz Gloria” mountain. This is part of the Schilthornbahn 20XX’ project and intends to transform the access to the Schilthorn mountain! This new system is set to be completed in 2026 and is going to help streamline the journey to the resorts with fewer transfers. The total travel time will be 18 minutes instead of 32! This project will cost around 96 million to 106 million euros to complete! Would you take a ride in it?
