In an interview, the director clarified that Margot Robbie wanted to perform the scene naked, as that is exactly what her character in the movie would do. Director Martin Scorsese told her that she could wear a robe if it would make her feel more comfortable.
Now, more than 10 years after the movie’s debut, Margot Robbie finally announces that showing up nude was completely her idea. Later, she also clarified that she had decided to slap Leonardo DiCaprio in the face when the script actually called for a kiss. The best part? She didn’t hold back, and DiCaprio was unaware of the “slight change” and got whacked in the face!
The director, Martin Scorsese, was not strict with his scripts. Insead, he wanted the actors to provide input on how to make scenes better. For Margot, it seemed that the crazier stuff she did, the more time she had on screen.
