Last year Red Bull faced some serious challenges throughout the year. They had an underperforming car and a driver who couldn’t get out of Q2. However, on top of all the trouble with the performances, there were also internal struggles. Christian Horner, former team boss, was accused of sexual harassment. Internal investigation stated that Horner had done nothing wrong, but earlier this year, he was let go as a team principal, and now he’s actually fired from Red Bull. Keep on reading to discover more.
Christian Horner leaves with a £52 Million pay-out
Earlier this year, Horner was told he was no longer the public face of Red Bull F1 and would get a different role. However, it seems like Red Bull just did that to phase him out. Once he was old news and the team has settled down in a new routine, Horner was let go. First, his role as team principal was taken away, and he would fulfill tasks in the background of the team, but now the team and Christian Horner have officially separated.

Red Bull Seems Fine
During the time when Christian was the head of the team, there were a lot of internal fights and contradicting opinions within the team. It caused a lot of problems within the team. However, now that he’s gone, it seems like Max Verstappen has found his spark again. He has won the past two grand prix with more than 10 seconds to spare. That is enough to make the McLaren team worried.
This is more than his contract was still worth
When Christian Horner was still the team boss, he had a 10 million GBP per year contract. This contract was valid all the way untill 2030, which means he would have made £50 million from 2025 to 2030. However, now he gets a payout of £52 million and is able to immediately go and retire or work for other teams. Instead of “Changing his f*cking car!”
Unfortunately we don’t think he’ll be accepted as one of the team bosses by any of the other teams. The main reason he was fired was because of the allegations made public in 2024.
