Owen Cooper’s Performance is incredible!

Owen Cooper, the 15-year-old actor who played the role of 13-year-old school boy Jamie Miller in Adolescence, received his first Primetime Emmy award during the event on September 14th. The mini-series was an immediate success and gained global popularity in just a few days. The way the show was recorded and produced was a key factor in its popularity. However, what the 15-year-old didn’t expect was to be flown out to the US to receive his first Primetime Emmy Award. By receiving the award, he has claimed the record for the youngest male primetime Emmy winner of all time. The 15-year-old took this record from Scott Jacoby, who claimed it in 1973.

In the speech he gave when he received the award, he told others that stepping out of your comfort zone makes almost anything possible. He didn’t expect to be in the States just a few years after he started taking acting classes. In addition to the Emmy, there were a lot of people who said that his performance as a 15-year-old shows that a lot of international actors still have to learn quite a bit to be on that level. Mainly since all the episodes were filmed in one take without editing cuts and camera switches.

Co-star Stephen Graham Also Gets an Award!

Owen Cooper wasn’t the only one from the cast who received an Emmy. His co-star Stephen Graham also received one. However, he didn’t receive it for his acting skills, but more so for his writing skills. Stephen Graham co-wrote the story and helped direct it. Graham said he got the inspiration from 2 cases about young boys stabbing girls. He was shocked to find out that this is happening more frequently and is not talked about as much. Both actors have given each other compliments in public and have shared memories about their experience on the show!
