Serena Williams Will Be The New Face Of Weight Loss Drugs
Most people were not expecting Serena Williams to come out having used the weight loss drug GLP-1s. However, in recent interviews, she said they had actually helped her lose a bunch of weight. But people have questioned if the athlete ever took the drugs.

What most people do not know is that Serena is married to Alexis Ohanian, who is one of the Board members of Ro, the telehealth firm that is promoting the GLP-1s drug. The goal of the new multiyear partnership is to get more customers for the drug. They want to trigger people to say that “An athlete like her doesn’t need those types of drugs”. By doing this, the company wants to showcase that it is not only “fat” people who can benefit from this.
Did Serena Williams Actually Take The Drugs?
In an interview, Serena Williams said that she used the GLP-1s drug to help her lose weight after having kids. She said it is the medicine her body needed. In total, she lost over 31 pounds using GLP-1, and by becoming one of the ambassadors for the drug, she opens it up to a whole new audience and pool of customers. With someone of her caliber admitting that she has used it to lose a bit of weight, other people who felt ashamed before might also embrace using it.
