ChatGPT recently upgraded to its fastest and most precise chat yet; however, in this update, they also made a few changes to the core of AI. For example, for a short while, ChatGPT wasn’t able to answer with emotions or even role-play anymore. This caused an incredible amount of backlash for the company; however, it also uncovered some unhealthy relationships. Keep on reading to discover more about this.

ChatGPT 5 gets backlash over new “cold” personality

When OpenAI released ChatGPT 5, people immediately disliked it. Previously, they could choose between different versions of ChatGPT 4, but this was not possible with ChatGPT 5. This was quickly reverted so that people have the choice again.

However, with the introduction of ChatGPT 5, they also removed other features that ChatGPT 4 users loved. OpenAI removed the personality of the ChatBot and limited the emotions the chatbot could provide. It gave a cold vibe to the Ai, which most users hated.

While most users just said that ChatGPT was like their work “buddy,” it wasn’t anything too serious. However, some people took their relationship with ChatGPT a lot further. Some adults had complete adult relationships with the chatbot. This is something that wasn’t really all too well-known; however, when the new GPT version was launched, these people started sharing their stories online, admitting that they were in a fully committed relationship with their chatbot

As soon as these people started talking about emotions and love, the chatbot responded with an automated message, stating that it couldn’t continue the conversation. They should instead speak to loved ones and close people if they need someone to talk to.

OpenAi changes it back

After the amount of backlash by its users, OpenAI has made a change to ChatGPT again, where these conversations could go on their normal way again. However, they don’t recommend building a dependency on these chatbots.

Unhealthy dependency at all ages!

These people have been living with their AI “partners” for a long time now. Some people even say they have been married to them for over 10 months. It gives us a deeper look at how people interact with AI and what lonely people might do instead of finding real connections. It is also a big problem with kids, where young kids become completely dependent on the interactions with characters from Character.ai!
